Steppin' Out with My Baby!

Oh yes she can!
Time for the baby gate - this girl is fast!
And this Mommy is grateful that she can get from one level to another without the strain on Mommy's back.  They grow. so. fast.

Polar Bear Mambo

Do you know what happens when you have a one year old that wears a dress two days in a row?
They forget how to crawl because they don't want to get caught up in their dress!
And instead they learn to do this bear crawl move.
And even with her butt up in the air, she still looks pretty cute - but oh so silly!  She was even crawling like this the next morning when she had regular clothes on again....cracked. me. up!  What a silly silly girl.

Whee!

 Someone loves the swing!
We sure are glad the neighbors are willing to share!
Their swing set appears to be the start of many fond memories for us this summer!
Hope we don't wear out our welcome!

Picnic with Pops!

How about an impromptu cookout?
The weather this year has been perfect for dining outside, and I love that the mess stays out of the house for even just a brief moment, so a picnic with Papa was born!  Lovin' this weather!

Nap Sack!

Someone is just a little thrilled at Mommy's latest purchase.  It's a mini nap mat - perfect for those times when we're on the go,and someone needs a place to nap. She LOVES it - and couldn't wait to get cozzeee in it right away.  Now let's hope it works when we're on the go this summer!

Future firefighter?

It seems our girly-girl has a definite mind of her own these days.  At the school carnival this weekend, she pet both a snake & turtle, wanted to win a basketball, and had a blast sitting in the fire truck.  Also worth mentioning is the handful of tootsie rolls that came home with us as her wins at the duck pond, lollipop tree, ring toss, and cake walk.  She had a blast.  I promise there will be more fun posts later this week...we've just been way to busy recently.  Happy May, y'all!

Helmet Free and loving it!

Well, we've been helmet-free since April 17th, officially, but I'm just now getting around to blogging about it.  I had in my mind that I would do this post with a little graduation cap on Lucy instead of her helmet, but alas..I've been busy and it hasn't happened.  This top pic is "Mr. Nick", our helmet expert.  We've seen him every 3 weeks since her surgery to get our helmet 'tweaking'.  Lucy's head is smack in the middle of the normal range, and her helmet was beginning to get a little snug, so Nick promoted her to graduation!  We couldn't be happier.
And the most surprising thing to me was waking her the next morning....to find she had BED HEAD!  It was pretty much the cutest bed head ever - and an unexpected and delightful surprise.
Who would have thought I'd get so excited about mussed up hair?  But when you've never seen her wake from bed before without that helmet, it was a fun little find, indeed!  Yay, Lucy bug.  You've got many reasons to smile...and a perfect little head is just one of them!
