Pretty in Pink!

I had to document some of my favorite poses. Caroline always has her hands together- when eating, when playing, when sleeping! She's always folding them like she's praying or clapping. Here even the pinky comes up for a dainty feminine wave!
And when those hands aren't grabbing each other, they're grabbing toys...or clothes!
All smiles for Mommy! She's talking and cooing up a storm, and usually blowing bubbles, drooling, or putting her fist in her mouth all at the same time. Such talent!
I don't know what she's thinking about in this photo but it appears she's definitely up to something! Loving that sweet little mouth and those flirty eyes!
I'm in love! She has such a sweet personality! She is loads of fun to talk to and play with. Oh, and she laughed out loud at her Mommy on Friday- a hearty three syllable giggle several times in a row. Yes, I guess anyone making that many silly faces at you can be that funny!

Ahhh- Choo!

And now you've seen the world's cutest sneeze! God bless you!

Warriors vs. Monarchs

Rick's alma mater is Westerville North. Laurie's alma mater is Marysville. We ventured out to see the North Warriors host the Marysville Monarchs.
One proud Daddy enjoyed showing off his girl to all his buddies tonight. It was great fun to see all our friends at North.
And even the Smith girls will claim to be Warriors for now- until Caroline is old enough to be a Marysville Monarch! Boys Varsity basketball coach Kevin Thuman was in our wedding and has been a friend of Rick's for years. We've enjoyed attending the games to support coach and it was fun to attend and show off our newest addition.
Friend Casie couldn't wait to hold Caroline- and pretty much kept her entertained all evening!
Final score- Westerville 88, Marysville 51. It could have been 90 or more for the Warriors, but coach Thuman had enough class not to run the score up further against Marysville. He's one cool guy! We enjoyed partying with the North family at Wendell's Pub following the win, and Caroline slept through it all! A great January night out!

A snow-day visit!

Friend Laurie Licata has been trying to get to Marysville for weeks now, and was finally able to come see us Friday. It was a snow day for just about every kid in Ohio, so we were worried we'd have to cancel yet again. But Laurie persisted and the roads were fine. We had a great time catching up! Caroline loved her visit even though she's pretty sober in this shot!

On a roll!

Hi mom! Are you really going to just sit there and snap my picture??
If so, I guess I'd better perform! Here's step 1...
Step 2!
And Voila! Step 3! We've successfully rolled from tummy to back! Now you've all seen it, too! We're so proud!

Mommy's Girl

My mommy works at St. Brendan, and all I got was this lousy onesie!! (not!) Look at that full tummy!!
We had to add this post since we showed off Caroline in her NetJets gear a few weeks ago! It was time St. Brendan got some props too! Can you see the red tint to her hair? And those long eyelashes? Gosh she's getting so big and changing so much!
She's twelve weeks already- we go to the doc tomorrow so we'll have a weight and length update soon. Our little girl is definitely filling out! Tonight she even rolled over for me from her tummy to her back. We're working on getting her on a schedule so when I go back to work January 20th (sniff, sniff!) she'll hopefully be sleeping at night. She has some nights now where she makes it all night, and other nights where she cries a lot. Last night we started letting her cry it out. It was tough but she did well! Let's hope for more success tonight! We met with her sitter yesterday and all will be well- it's just tough to even think about. I'm holding on to the next two weeks and cherishing every moment! (and hoping for a few snow days AFTER January 20th!)

Mommy went shopping!

Here's our sweetie in her new pink fleece from her cousin Leah. It's a 6 month size if that tells you how she's growing! Gosh, she's getting big! This is the perfect little outfit to cuddle up in on these cold winter days.
I have been trying to get out for weeks and get Caroline this green Bumbo seat. Totally overpriced, but too fun. She's such an alert baby and enjoys looking around that I wanted to test out this seat with her. So far, so goood! She looked pretty cute sitting upright in it tonight. She holds her head up really well and I thought it might be a nice alternative to the boppy pillow.
The only downside is she's used to kicking those legs. Her arms and legs are always in motion, and the bumbo seat really limits how much her legs can move, but she seemed to do fine. I'd say it's broken in- the first thing she did was fill her pants in this seat! Look for more photos of our girl sittting upright from here on out!
