Time to swing!

My little girl looks all grown up! This was her first time in a baby swing at the park near the beach house. She giggled tiny little giggles every time she came forward in it. She was not sure at first, but she warmed up quickly.

Weeeee!

Splish, Splash!

Enjoying a cloudy afternoon all alone in the pool! Refreshing!
SPLASH!

I'm such a beach babe!

Hangin' out in Nags Head

...in a captain's chair hammock!
We LOVE this hammock store, and it's tradition to come, relax, and try out all the hammocks and swings.
This swing suits Grandpa to a tee!
How about a swing built for two?..or three?
Or a pancake larger than your plate at Bob's Grill? Another family tradition is a brunch at Bob's. A wonderful greasy spoon with big servings. Mmm-mm good!

Playing at the poolside

Someone is all bright-eyed after her nap poolside...
Looks pretty comfy to me!
And oh-so-giggly that she's wearing Hannah's goggles!
Bring it on!
Sheer happiness!

Name your flavor!

Seeing Dad so bronzed next to Jill..it's like looking at chocolate and vanilla!Or chocolate with vanilla sprinkles on top??
Or how about chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry? Looks like someone got a little fried at the beach today! It was only appropriate to take this flavorful pic because we were at the Dairy Queen, after all!

Beachin' it up!

JOY!
First dip in the sand and in the ocean...and she absolutely hated it! Cried immediately and yanked her feet up into the 'splits'! Funny girl!
First family vacation at OBX, North Carolina. Today Caroline is 8 months old! Where does the time go? Just glad to be off and relaxing together for the week.
Grandpa Ward & his girls! Relaxing on deck at breakfast time before hitting the beach.
Hello, everyone! All smiles and relaxing with my cousins is great fun! More beach pics to come...

Crunch!

Well, we all made it to the beach safely...and important to note..this cutie was NOT driving while our new van (one week old to us!) got it's first boo-boo. She's simply relaxing out of her carseat while at a pit stop enroute.
Here's the sad news...
I don't think you're supposed to be able to see daylight through there!
Yeeowch! We're not real fans of the maniac driving in the state of Virginia. As we were pulled off to the side and exchanging info with the SUV that gave us our new van design, we saw another three cars crunch and pile up right next to us. Traffic was insane! We feel very lucky to be alright. It shook us up a bit, but back on the road we did go, for we MUST get to the beach!
Well, I guess we've officially 'broken in' the van! Thanking God we are all okay, and enjoying the sunshine and sand today.
