A visit with friends

Our next stop in FL, was a visit with Chris and Patrick.  We dined together, and then stopped by their house for a visit.
Alma Lou enjoyed taking the girls out by the pool.
 Lucy made herself at home.
And both girls enjoyed tickling the ivories!

How much fun is this!  Too bad the sounds coming from the piano weren't as cute as these two playing it.  We had a lovely visit and look forward to seeing them again soon.

The Florida Aquarium

Sorry for the delay in getting these pics uploaded.  I've had many technical difficulties - but here they are!  Have you given up on my blog?  Please don't - I promise there's more to come!
Turtle!
Girls amid a sting ray!

 Shark!

 Lots of fish!
It was a rainy day so we decided to take in the sights at the aquarium.  Unfortunately, so did everyone else!  It was a crowded place, but we made the best of it and the girls did great.

A dip in the pool

We took in a splash at the hotel pool while in Tampa - we watched airplanes fly overhead, blew bubbles, and enjoyed quality family time!
Caroline was so proud to be freestyling in her water wings!  What a big girl she is!

And after Lucy was dried off poolside, she pointed to her chair and said "pillow" and layed her head down.  She was tuckered out and ready for bed, I guess!

A Language Lesson

Just in case you were wondering, I thought I'd translate for you the latest Toddler Speak in the Smith household.

And there you have it - the latest and greatest of Lucy and C-Speak.  I'll have to do another update in a few months.  I'm pretty sure Lucy is from Boston, where Goggies can be heard bawking, and where you lay down to go nigh nigh with your Bonkie and say YuhYou.

The Tampa Zoo!

So we renewed our Columbus Zoo membership prior to leaving Ohio - just so we could enjoy some of the scenic sites on our trip!  We LOVED this zoo.  Absolutely my favorite zoo ever.  It was so nice to see the animals up close and I felt like it was easy to get around the place.  The girls loved it too!  Definitely a must-do on our next trip south.

The carousel was a hit - we had to go twice around at the start of our trip, and twice again later on!  Lucy kept asking for the 'horsey' ride!

Zebras!  The Columbus zoo has moved its zebras and giraffes to the Wilds, so it was a special treat to see them here.  I was giddy!
Giraffes!

Up close!
We could feed the giraffes here - how awesome is that?

Elephant family!  This baby was only two months old.

The penguins were fun to watch.  It was like they knew that they should put on a show for us.

Look, Ma!  No hands!

Someone posing as a Monkey on display!  Fitting!
 Loving on the sculpture

Um, not so sure about the actual one on display!
And a final stop at the gift shop - for a giraffe, and zebra of course!

Zonked out enroute home - this didn't take long!
It was a great day!  Zzzzzzzzz

Just Beachy!

We made it!  We're here!!!!!  Woo-hoo!  I was so happy to see the sun and the sand.  Boy, did I need this.  It was a long hike with the girls, but they did great!
We spent the day at Sand Key Beach, FL - lots of sand, shells, and waves!

And we all had a blast!
Lucy was fearless.  Here she decided to just plop herself down in the sand for a bit.  What a goof.  Could she be any cuter?

Caroline made herself right at home looking for shells, and making new friends.

I had to play around with the camera - love this shot.  It was a great day at the beach.  I wanna go back - now!
