A day at Indian Lake

We have some lovely teacher friends and over the years we've stayed in close contact with them.  The Millers have a place at Indian Lake and graciously had has up for a visit.
The girls!  Three of us are still teaching at St. Brendan, and two have moved on but it was great to have us all together again for the day.
Jennifer and Karen take Lucy out for a paddle boat ride.
The Busters tackle kayaking!
My girls had fun just playing at the house and splashing in the pool.
Chris takes the girls out for a boat ride around the lake.

The boys take a spin too, and Lucy and Caroline tag along!
Do they look a little excited about their first boat ride?
Relaxing lake side.
And the girls got a chance to catch up!
Thanks, Jennifer.  It was a great day - one of my favorite this summer!

It was a perfect day.  Summer fun at its best.

Willy Wonka!

Our local Summer Theater Workshop presented "Willy Wonka" this year.  Nephew Jack and niece Ellie were part of the cast.
Ellie, front and center as an "Oompa Loompa"
Jack as "Charlie Bucket"
Kayden Cordell as Willy Wonka and Jack.
Ellie and her solo- the stage loves her!

I can't believe Jack memorized all those lines as a lead in the play.  He amazes me.

Such a cute show!  Hard to believe these kids spent every morning all summer getting ready for this!  What a great opportunity for them.  My girls loved it, and we couldn't be more proud of Jack and Ellie!

Cookout with friends

I
I am blessed to have found some lovely ladies to bond with over the past year, and we got our families together for a gathering.

More sparkler fun!
Lucy bonds with Heather.  She's an Iowa girl, so she and I made an instant connection!
Marjolein and Julie

We get together as often as we can and keep each other in prayer and check up on life.  It's been a Godsend to me this year.  Love them all!
Dave gets the lowdown from Lucy.
Rick bonds with the  guys!
And the colored smoke bombs were a big hit!
What a fun night out with friends.  We are blessed.

Happy 4th!

Here's a rundown of our day, in reverse order...
We finished a very fun day seeing Leah perform at the Dublin fireworks (after Earth, Wind, and Fire!)  She sang the National Anthem and she was the bomb!
Just a few members of the Leah fan club...

She's on that stage!

We're in the stands(a challenge in and of itself!) and we're ready to listen!

Some of us got a nap in prior to the fireworks...
No one in the family had any plans for earlier in the day so we hosted an impromptu cookout.
Lucy shows off her new 'bracelets'...

These 'bracelets' are really for beer bottle identification...we told her they said "Pretty Princess".
Matt photo bombs Rick's sparkler picture.
The cousins head to the yard for a pile up!

 Caroline helps Leah play cornhole.

The kids had lots of fun

Leah, looking all calm and collected before her big evening performance!

Sparkler fun
And we started the day with a parade..at our old stomping grounds on W. 5th St.

Dad enjoyed visiting with his old neighbors.
Keith helped the girls collect candy.
Friend Mike Rose stopped by to enjoy the parade with us.

And here we are, invading Mom's space awaiting our big day of fun!
