Daddy's Girl

My Daddy works at NetJets everyday...
... and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!
Caroline takes her shirt a little too seriously - here she prepares for liftoff!

Ho ho helper!

Mommy did a little shopping last week, and had to pick me up this cute little outfit. I wore it to church Sunday and a holiday brunch. I have to agree- I look pretty cute!

Are you all ready for Santa? I can't wait! I've been a very good girl! Merry Christmas, everyone!

TWO MONTHS!

Our girl is getting so big! I swear she laughed at me today! Here she is posing in her 12 month onesie at two months old! Gosh time flies!
All smiles- our little one has eyelashes that seem to never stop growing, along with a contagious smile. We find ourselves acting like idiots to get those heartwarming little smiles out of her. She's very alert and loves looking at the Christmas lights and daylight coming in the windows. She also loves to look at books and so far, she's a real sport because she even seems to like mommy's singing.

She likes to talk back with her little coos- here she's talking back to me..probably wondering why I take so many pictures!
and here she is ultrafocused on something! We call this her 'deer in headlights' look! Can you see those gorgeous eyelashes? What a beauty!

This one's for the Steelers!

Anyone who knows my daddy knows he's a HUGE Steelers fan...but they need a little help these days, so we thought we'd add a post to help them out!
..so I guess we're training her a bit early, huh? (..and anyone who knows Laurie is seriously laughing right now that she's actually doing a post about football!!)
Here Caroline shows off a smile for her favorite smiley Steelers player...you guessed it, #86 Hines Ward! (...and Laurie did that with NO help from Rick, by the way!)
and how about a touchdown? Caroline would like to remind the Steelers that this is what it looks like...come on team, get it together!
But she's not worried..they'll be back stronger next year even if they're out of the playoffs this year..she gives them the OK sign...(well, maybe that's a stretch, but hey..pretty close for an 8 week old!)

A visit with Judy & Jennifer!

Here's our girl enjoying her mobile in her crib. She just studies everything these days, so it was fun to take a few minutes to explore in the nursery.
Okay- here's a yawn- perhaps she's bored already!
There's almost a smile there! I think I caught her mid-giggle!
What a stretch! I can't believe how big she's getting! She loves to stretch out on the king bed...
...and so does someone else! Friend Judy models with the newly assembled Ikea bed! She was at the hospital the night of Caroline's birth and hadn't seen her since. It was nice to catch up and visit.
Friend Jennifer came also and helped tend to Caroline! We had a lovely time and even managed to squeeze in lunch!

I was so thrilled they came to Marysville to see us! We welcome all visitors! It helps entertain mommy, so come on over y'all!

IKEA- part one!

740 lbs! Of furniture, that is! It arrived in 13 boxes Wednesday by truck delivery. I simply pointed upstairs. I didn't realize it would all be stacked at the foot of our bed...this made navigating a bit interesting! Wow- this looks like work.
The picture doesn't do it justice but I think there must have been over 200 pieces of hardware here...and this is only for one piece of furniture! Yikes!
Friend Jim King stopped by to assist with the king bed assembly-and boy we sure needed him! There was no way I was going to be able to lift those heavy pieces....
...or maneuver into this position!
After the bed was complete Rick was a pro-and tackled dresser number one. No smiles for the photographer though..perhaps I took a few too many!??
And here is the loft/office space complete with our Ikea cubbies along the wall. Loving this! We'll update with part 2 once the bedroom is complete!

Getting ready for the holiday!

Well, what's a holiday without a photo with Santa? I hadn't intended on visiting with Santa this year, but Monday night the merchants uptown Marysville held their Christmas Walk. It was a cold night, so we bundled up and headed out. Wendy and Matt and family waited in the long line to see Santa and as they approached the front of the line, they asked us to join them! (sorry to those behind us!!) After all, it is her first Christmas, so we jumped in and took advantage of the opportunity!
Here's a couple pics of our 'Jolly Baby' enjoying herself at home!

With a new home we finally have a fireplace- so I was on a mission to find us stockings this year. I think these fit the bill! And decorating the mantle was easy- these packages were centerpieces at our wedding and Dad had been using them for display at his store. I think they're perfect- sentimental and a quick fix for my holiday decor dilemma! (okay, perhaps I have been watching too much HGTV on my time at home???)
Here's the look with my skinny tree next to the fireplace to complete the look. I don't really have the energy to decorate much more of the house- and anxiously awaiting that sofa still. Once it's in place, perhaps I will feel like I can get other things decorated. For now, this will do!
